Sharing your quiz to your Facebook business page is as easy as copying/pasting a link. However, first, you need to decide if you want the Facebook share to link to your quiz on the Opinion Stage site or to your own site. Following are instructions for doing both.
To share with a link that sends to your quiz on OpinionStage.com
From the Opinion Stage item dashboard, go to the item you'd like to share and click the Share tab.
Open the Share Link tab and copy it or select the Facebook icon to share the quiz directly to your feed.
Paste the link in your Facebook Business page if you copied the link.
Note: You can remove the link as soon as the quiz loads on Facebook and add your own caption.
To share with a link that sends to the quiz embed on your site
From the Opinion Stage item dashboard, go to the item you'd like to share and enable the Social sharing bar:
Publish the item & click the Share tab.
Choose the correct CMS tab and copy the quiz embed code for your website (read more here).
Paste the copied code into a page on your site.
Run the Quiz until you reach the result screen.
Click on the Facebook button and follow the Facebook sharing dialog instructions to share it on your business page.
Why Facebook Shares From Quizzes include an opinionstage.com label?
Opinion Stage offers the option to white label all your items including quizzes by removing the Opinion Stage branding from the interface (and optionally adding your own logo). However due to a Facebook limitation we are not able to remove the opinionstage.com label from Facebook shares done from quizzes.
To determine what to share, Facebook scans the shared URL and retrieves from it the title, description & image. Because we want Facebook to retrieve the quiz title, quiz description & quiz image we need to hand Facebook the Opinion Stage iframe URL (as opposed to the URL of the site hosting the quiz). This causes Facebook to put the OpinionStage.com site indication on the share without allowing us to change it. It's important to note that clicking the share will go back to your site (since we can override the link) so you don't have to be worried about that.
No other quiz service we are aware of was able to overcome this small branding issue, and we weren't able to get Facebook to change their policy on the matter either. The good news is that from our research, it has no affect on the click rate and you can always add your branding in the messaging/images of the share and on the quiz itself.
Why is Facebook not Sharing the Correct Quiz Image?
If Facebook is not sharing the image you expected, it may be a cache issue. To resolve this, run your content URL through the Facebook Sharing Debugger. In addition, verify that your page is public so that the Facebook crawler can access it.
When sharing your quiz, poll, or survey, keep in mind that you can also control how your link preview appears on Facebook and other platforms. There are three available options:
Use the default Opinion Stage preview,
Automatically extract details from your item, or
Manually set your own image, title, and description.
Each option offers different levels of customization depending on your needs. You can read more about these link sharing settings here.
If these steps don’t solve the issue, please send us the link where your item is embedded, and our technical support team will be happy to assist.
