While creating a simple poll can take seconds, the service also includes many advanced features for different scenarios and a lot of customization options. Find out how to create an engaging poll below:

How to create a poll

To create a poll, click on the Create New button and choose Poll.

Poll editor overview

Inside the editor you’ll see:

  • Left panel: Edit the poll structure: cover page (optional), questions, and results.

  • Center: Preview each card as you edit it (to see the full item, click Preview button in the top bar)

  • Right panel: Customize the content, design, and settings. The Content tab helps you set features of the card in the center. The Design tab lets you adjust branding elements. Use the Settings tab to control general poll behavior.

Structure of a poll

Questions
Add various types of questions to gather the input you need. Opinion Stage supports multiple-choice (single or multiple answers), short and long answer fields, email and phone fields, date pickers, dropdowns, website fields, and more. You can also include informative cards to divide your poll into clear sections.

Need to collect contact info or custom data? Add a lead form to capture emails, names, dropdown selections, checkboxes, and more!

Closings
You can choose to show poll results right after the user votes or delay them for later. Decide whether to display the total number of votes and whether the most popular option should be shown on top. Customize your closing message to thank participants or include a call-to-action.

Settings and customization

In the Design tab, you can change colors, fonts, and more to match your brand. Read more about design customization.

The Settings tab gives you advanced control over your poll. For example, you can remove the Opinion Stage branding, receive email notifications for new entries, set a closing date, adjust navigation options & more!

Distributing your item

Once your poll is ready, it’s time to share it. Read all about sharing your items here.

Viewing and analyzing results

Once responses start coming in, you can track performance right inside your dashboard. You'll see how many people viewed, started, and completed the poll, along with engagement metrics like average time and CTA clicks. You can also review individual responses and export results. Read more about each results section here.

That’s everything you need to get started with a poll. If you have questions, reach out through our chat located on the bottom/right of the screen - we’re here to help!
