Opinion Stage’s image upload tool will let you search for images in Google, use your own images from different sources (e.g. Dropbox, Facebook, etc.), or purchase images from leading repositories (e.g. Shutterstock).
You can then crop the image you select to different sizes. The image should be:
not larger than 2000 x 1000 px,
not smaller than 100 x 50 px,
up to 2 MB in size.
When creating engaging quizzes, surveys, and polls on the Opinion Stage platform, using the right image dimensions can enhance the user experience. Sometimes, users face issues with enforced cropping of images to specific dimensions, such as the default 16:9 aspect ratio. This guide explains how to customize image dimensions to better suit your needs.
Important note: The image upload tool also allows you to filter images that are free to modify, change, and share for commercial usage. Make sure you are only using images you have the rights to.
Following are the recommended image sizes for Opinion Stage items:
Recommended Image dimensions
1) For images under/above the question, we recommend a 16:9 image ratio and to verify that the image is 800 width x 450 px height at minimum. You can set to enforce the recommended dimensions in the design settings. However, you can also unset the enforcement - this can be achieved by unselecting the checkbox here:
If your images are getting cropped and you want to ensure they display in their original dimensions, follow these steps:
Access the specific quiz, survey, or poll item Settings where you uploaded the image.
Locate the option titled "Enforce recommended dimension (16:9)".
Unselect this option to disable automatic cropping to the 16:9 aspect ratio.
Save your changes and preview the quiz, survey, or poll to ensure the image now displays correctly without enforced cropping.
Many users encounter automatic cropping of their images to a specific dimension. For example, default settings might force images into a 16:9 aspect ratio even if you intended to use another ratio, such as 3:4. This can lead to important parts of the image being cropped out, which can diminish the impact of your visual content. To address this, Opinion Stage allows users to unselect certain settings and gain better control over the aspect ratio of their images.
2) Answer images: Supported dimensions include 4:3, 16:9, 2:1, 1:1, and 3:4. Make sure to choose the dimension that best suits your images.
Ensure that your original image quality is high enough to avoid pixelation when dimensions are adjusted.
Consider testing your image display on different devices to verify proper scaling and alignment.
For best results, design your image content keeping in mind how it will be used within the platform.
3) Thumbnail images - we recommend using a 1:1 ratio, and the image is 200 x 200 px at minimum.
