Add a Payment field to your quiz, survey, poll, or form and connect your PayPal account to start collecting payments directly through Opinion Stage.

The Payment field lets you charge a fixed amount from respondents — great for event registrations, paid content, donations, and more.

The Payment field is available on Business and Enterprise plans.

Who can do this

Before getting started, make sure:

  • You have an active PayPal account.

  • Your Opinion Stage plan includes the Payment field.

Permissions:

  • Only the Account owner can connect a PayPal account.

  • Admins and Editors can add a Payment field to items, but can't connect PayPal.

  • If no PayPal account is connected, the Payment field will be inactive and users won't be able to complete payments.

Add a payment field

  1. Open the item where you want to collect payments.

  2. Click the + (Add field) button in the builder.

  3. Select Payment from the field list.

  4. Add a title to explain what the payment is for.

  5. Optionally add a description with more details for users.

Connect your PayPal account

You need to connect PayPal once before the Payment field becomes active.

  1. In the Payment field settings, click Connect.

  2. You'll be redirected to the PayPal login page. Enter your PayPal email and password, then click Log In.

  3. PayPal will ask you to authorize the Opinion Stage integration — click Agree and Connect.

You'll be redirected back to the builder automatically. Your PayPal account is now connected and the Payment field is active.

Configuration

After connecting PayPal, set up how payments will work.

Set the payment amount

Enter the amount users will pay. The amount is fixed — every user who reaches this field will be charged the same amount.

Customization

You can adjust how the Payment field looks and reads to match your item's context.

  • Field title — explain the purpose of the payment (e.g. "Event Registration Fee")

  • Description — add details like what's included or what happens after payment

  • Button text — customize the label on the payment button (e.g. "Pay & Register" performs better than a generic label)

  • Media — add an image or video to give the payment step more context

Preview and display

In the builder preview, you'll not see all the payment options. In a live item, PayPal may offer additional payment methods depending on the user's location, including:

  • Credit card

  • Debit card

  • Bank transfer

  • Other PayPal-supported methods

After completing payment, users will see a confirmation message.

Currency and country restrictions

The currencies available in Opinion Stage follow PayPal's supported currency list. Payment methods shown to users may vary based on their location — PayPal handles this automatically.

Disconnect PayPal

You can disconnect your PayPal account at any time:

  1. Open any item with a Payment field.

  2. In the Payment field settings, click the Disconnect icon.

After disconnecting, the Payment field will be inactive until a new PayPal account is connected.
